I did not set out to be political. I set out to figure out who I am. Once my feet were on solid ground, once I knew who I was, that’s when the backlash started. That’s when I realized what all of the fuss was about.

I did not set out to be political. I can’t imagine anything more boring than what politics SHOULD be—a debate about the most effective way to serve the people. You know, big government vs small government, how much do we regulate businesses, that sort of thing. Arguing over the best way to be a bureaucrat. YAWN. Instead, I find that just BEING is political, and that it’s even more political for some people than it is for me.

Changing the courses of rivers and the boundaries of oceans requires many of us standing on our feet together against the flow.
