Shipping Policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026

There’s something lovely about a book making its way from one pair of hands to another. We’ll do our best to get your order packed carefully and headed your way as quickly as possible.

Here’s what you can expect when you order from Trivial Circumstances Press.

Where We Ship

At this time, Trivial Circumstances Press ships orders to addresses within the United States.

If you’re outside the U.S. and would like to order a book, please get in touch at hello@trivialcircumstances.com. We’ll let you know whether we’re able to arrange shipping to your location.

Processing Your Order

Orders are generally printed and packed within 2–10 business days.

Orders are not typically processed on weekends or U.S. holidays. During busy seasons, book launches, or special events, processing may take a little longer.

Once your order has been packed and shipped, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation when applicable.

Shipping Costs & Options

Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout based on your order and shipping destination.

Available shipping options and their costs will be shown before you complete your purchase.

Some shipping options include tracking and/or insurance, while others are more economical and do not include tracking or insurance. Please review the shipping option details carefully when placing your order.

If you choose a shipping method without tracking or insurance, we cannot provide tracking information or file an insurance claim on your behalf if the package is lost or damaged in transit.

Who Is Responsible for Shipping Costs?

We want to be clear about who covers shipping when something goes awry.

If we made the mistake: If we sent you the wrong item, your order was missing an item, or an item arrived damaged or defective, Trivial Circumstances Press will cover reasonable shipping costs associated with correcting the problem.

If you change your mind: If you decide you no longer want an item and the return is otherwise approved, you are generally responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable.

If you provided an incorrect address: If an order is returned to us because the shipping address provided at checkout was incorrect or incomplete, you are responsible for any additional shipping costs required to resend the order.

If a package is lost or damaged in transit: Our responsibility depends on the shipping method you selected. If you chose a shipping method that includes tracking and/or insurance, we’ll work with the carrier as appropriate to determine what happened and pursue any available claim. If you chose an untracked and uninsured shipping method, we cannot provide tracking information or recover the shipping cost through a carrier insurance claim.

For more information about returns and refunds, please see the Refunds & Returns Policy.

Delivery Times

Delivery times depend on the shipping method you select at checkout and the destination of your order.

Please keep in mind that delivery estimates are just that—estimates. Once your package leaves our hands, weather, holidays, carrier delays, and other circumstances beyond our control can affect its journey.

Alaska occasionally likes to remind us that maps and calendars are suggestions.

Tracking Your Order

If you select a shipping method that includes tracking, we’ll provide tracking information when it is available.

If you select a shipping method that does not include tracking, we will not have tracking information to provide. Delivery may therefore be more difficult to verify.

For tracked shipments, if your tracking information hasn't updated for a few days, don't panic. Sometimes packages continue moving even when the tracking page is taking a little time to catch up.

If a tracked package appears to be genuinely lost or hasn't moved for an unusually long time, please contact us at hello@trivialcircumstances.com and we'll do our best to help.

Incorrect or Incomplete Addresses

Please double-check your shipping address before placing your order.

If you notice an address mistake after placing your order, please contact us as soon as possible. If the order hasn't shipped yet, we'll do our best to correct it.

If an order has already shipped or is returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address provided at checkout, additional shipping charges may apply if you'd like the package sent again.

Damaged Packages

Books and other treasures sometimes have unfortunate encounters with shipping boxes.

If your order arrives damaged, please take a photo of the damaged item and its packaging and contact us within 14 days of delivery.

We'll work with you to make it right. If the damage occurred during shipping, Trivial Circumstances Press will cover reasonable shipping costs for a replacement or other approved resolution, subject to the terms of the shipping method selected.

If you selected a shipping method without insurance, we may not be able to recover the cost of a package damaged in transit from the carrier. We'll still do our best to work with you toward a reasonable solution.

Lost or Stolen Packages

If your tracked package shows that it has been delivered but you can't find it, please check around your property and with household members, neighbors, or your local carrier first.

If you still can't locate it, contact us and we'll do our best to help determine what happened.

For packages shipped without tracking or insurance, we may not be able to verify delivery or recover the shipping cost from the carrier.

Once a package has been confirmed as delivered to the address provided at checkout, Trivial Circumstances Press generally cannot be responsible for packages that are subsequently lost or stolen.

Questions About Your Order?

Thank you for supporting an independent Alaska author and small press. Every order helps these books find their way into the world—and we’re grateful for every one.
